Irish Whimsy

This week our feature is Whimsy Irish Elements by Cupcake Cutiees. It is just what you need to get you in the mood for St. Patrick’s Day. This is our second week for the current challenge: flowers. Enter for a chance to win  Blooming Friends Digital Stamp Set by Sanqunetti Design. Entries will be accepted until March 2nd, midnight.

This set has so many possibilities!! I decided to start crafting for
St Patrick's Day.  I am not Irish but this is still one of my favorite holidays...just wear green, smile and say, "The Leprechaun's did it!!"
I love to send St. Patrick Day cards because...no one expects them and everyone loves surprises!

I decided to try a fancy fold card: double slanted easel card. The results are awesome yet it is really easy to craft. The directions are on Splitcoast Stampers.

This little shamrock fella holds the two sides in place.
Here is another view of this double slanted easel card.

Recipe for this card:

FLOWERS

I want to thank alll of you who participated in the last My Grafico Challenge. The winners are posted HERE. Time for a new challenge! Our theme for this challenge is flowers. Even though winter isn’t quite over, it is not too early to start thinking about spring flowers. Enter for a chance to win this Blooming Friends Digital Stamp Set by Sanqunetti Design. Entries will be accepted until March 2nd, midnight.

This set has so many possibilities. I couldn't make just one card, I had to make two! I am sure I will continue to use it often. My first card:

I had so much fun with this card. I will have to admit, this is not what I had originally planned but, as a true crafter, the design just evolved! I spotted this bright floral DP paper,in my collection of unused paper, then matched it with a dark CS. I chose to leave the sentiment white so that it would be the main focus of the card. Then I was inspired to decorate the inside of this card:

The white paper lifts out so that a note can be written on it.
I am sharing this card with:
paper make up stamps: word art to be the focus of the card design
cutie pie challenge: flower power
the pink elephant challenge: print it
ooh-la-la-creations challenges; photo inspiration challenge
craft us crazy: favorite embellishment: candy dots (center of the flowers)

My second card is totally different.

This card is soft and feminine. I used a floral image as the center in a center step card. The ovals were cut with a Spellbinders die and the first oval was distressed  on the border with a distressing ink. The flowers were colored with copics and accented with sequins. The flowers and the pearls were a gift. The sentiment is from CTMH and the ribbons from Michael's dollar bin.
Here is a side view of this card:

Vintage Labels

The current challenge at My Grafico Crafts is St. Patrick’s Day or Fairy Girl. Enter for a chance to win this Fairy digital stamp by Sarah Paris.

Entries will be accepted until February 17th, midnight. Our feature this week is Vintage Labels by Lil Ellaboudy Design. These labels are wonderful for cards, scrapbook pages, or anything else you choose to put a label on.
My card this week is a vintage design using the pink square label above. Using Word, I saved the square label then chose a vintage design from Graphics fairy to place in the middle of the label. I fussy cut the label then backed it with olive green and added some heart shaped jewels on the corners. This image and frame was placed on DP from a K Pack @ Michael's. You might notice the several layers of punched lace near the top of the card. For this a Martha Stewart punch was used. The olive green ribbon was recycled from a gift package.  I plan to use this card as a Valentine Day Card. It could however, be used for any occassion.

This is a close up shot of the details on the image.

Thank you for stopping to visit. I hope that you were inspired to use one of these special labels in your project. Please feel free to leave a comment. I love reading all your cherished words. Fairy Buttercup

Happy Monday!! Are you ready for the first February challenge at My Grafico Crafts ? This week we received this darling image: Fairy Buttercup. Isn't she just precious?

When I saw her, I immediately thought of a very special girl who is having her seventh birthday. So a Birthday card it was....
I haven't used chalk as a coloring medium in awhile and  wanted a soft look...so chalk it was. A little sparkle was added using a gelly roll pen. The tag and inner circle were cut with my new Cricut. The sentiment was a free digital sentiment, wish I knew who to give credit to. The DP was from my collection. The base card was from a G package of cards at Michael's. I did pop up the Fairy's head to give it some dimension and added some bling to her toes!
Here is a close up shot. You can see the sparkle, just a little.

Thank you so much for visiting. I hope that I have inspired you to create something fun this week.  If you are interested in the current challenge at My Grafico Crafts, you can just click  HERE   for all the information.
