Cute Snowman Card

This is my second post for today...I have been busy :)
This was such a simple card to make. The card base was cut with the cricuit as well as the top two circles. The top circle was popped up and a small tie added. The eyes are tiny black pearls and the nose and arms are a CTMH stamp. Each of the circles were distressed using a CTMH light blue stamp pad.

Here is the inside, a little flourish from a CTMH stamp.
This card can be used for so many occasions: birthday, thank you, Christmas...
The stamps used are CTMH. The ribbon is from Michael's.
This card was made during our monthly stamp club meeting. I hope you will try making one of these easy snowmen. You really don't need a cricuit, just cut out the three different sized circles. Thanks for stopping by. Don't forget to leave a comment!

Winter Penguin

If you have not entered the recent challenge at  My Grafico Crafts  it is not too late. The current theme is “Tickets Anywhere for Someone Special”. Enter for a chance to win this Tickets Galore set by Sanqunetti Design. Entries will be accepted until February 3rd, midnight
This week we had a darling digital winter penguin to use in our craft.
It was so much fun to make a card with this cute image. I had seen a post about embossing cellophane and using it in a card design. I had all the young mothers, in my family, saving the larger pieces from their children's toys during the Christmas season. Now I have plenty of cellophane to play with :) I did experiment and find that the thicker plastic can not be used in most of the punches I have. I have not tried a die yet but I think that will also work. Here is my card, to share, for this week:

After embossing with a Cuttlebug snowflake die, I rubbed some gray pigment ink on the cellophane then wiped it off. Now you can easily see the design. It was easy to adhere the plastic using small glue dots in each of the four corners. I traced the snowflakes behind the penguin with a glitter gelly roll pen. A Spellbinder's die was used to cut out the scalloped circle then the background was distressed. I popped up the penguin to add dimension and used an orange gelly roll pen to make his beak brighter. You may notice the gentle shading of the image...not too clear in the photo. The silver snowflakes are from a Martha Stewart punch. The ribbons are from Target.
Close up shot...

Side view so that you can see the layers.

The inside sentiment was computer generated, cut with a Spellbinder's die then distressed. The snowflake is a MS punch.

I hope that I have inspired you to be creative and challenged this week:) I would love for you to leave a comment, I read each one...and/or follow this blog.  Have a wonderful week. Stay warm!!

For those of you who have waited so patiently for the January CD calendar....
I decided to do a vintage January. The image is from the wonderful Graphics Fairy. If you are not familiar with this site, you will have to have a peek.  graphicsfairy-crafts  is so generous to post usable images once a day for anyone who want them. I have started a digital collection and can't wait to try more of them. My other vintage items are lace and a button. The twine is baker's twine and the punch is a Martha Stewart punch all posted on Kraft paper. February's calendar in on a previous post, just scroll down on this site. My next calendar post will be March. I already have started on it so I should be posting soon.

Tickets Galore

We want to thank all of you who visited My Grafico during the past two weeks and were challenged to create a project and/or a card. Time for a new challenge! The theme is “Tickets Anywhere for Someone Special”. Enter for a chance to win this Tickets Galore set by Sanqunetti Design. Entries will be accepted until February 3rd, midnight Are you ready for this second challenge in 2012? Here is the file that we used and that you could also win .

I just love this set.It contains all the tickets that you will ever need...all in one file!!! My first project is a VIP pass for a special girl's birthday. (If the crown looks familiar, it is also one of MG files.) I inserted her picture within the frame, sized it, and printed it. Easy Peasy. ( I did this in MS Word.)
Next I punched a hole in the upper middle and added a ribbon. I was lucky to find a ribbon with cupcakes because that is the theme she chose for her birthday party. Then I got really creative and added a ring to the main image:
I hope that she likes it. The only materials that I used were the My Grafico files, a free digital sentiment (wish I knew the artist..sorry) and ribbon from Michael's.

My next project contains a heart from a My Grafico file. The tag is from the current file. The treat box is  metallic red paper but the photo doesn't show it too well.
Here is a close up of the heart. I printed it on checked paper and cut it out. Then added embellishments.

Here is a close up of the darling tag. I also printed this on red gingham paper then cut it out

Sweet Valentine

Happy Monday to all of you. We want to thank all of you who have entered the current challenge: Love and Valentines at My Grafico. If you have not yet entered or wish to enter another project and/or card, you might want to consider this awesome file: Sweet Valentine.

Enter for a chance to win this Love set by Blackleaf Studios. Entries will be accepted until January 20th, midnight.

Using the Cheri Wenger sweetness collection, I designed a small treat box.
There is a lot of detail in this project but I had so much fun creating it. The smallest heart was the design from this week's files. It was copied onto designer paper before cutting it out and punching holes for the twine.
I added a button, heart charm, another larger heart, the largest embossed heart, and a paper doily designed heart. I also added three pearls on the lower right. The box is a triangle box, the template is from Splitcoast Stampers.

Here is a close-up view.

Here is a view from the side.

Happy New Year to all my friends and visitors. Here we are in 2012 with out first challenge in the new year.We hope that you will take the time to visit all our design team member's blogs and leave them nice comment. They have created some wonderful projects and cards. You can visit the My Grafico Blog HERE.
Our current challenge theme at My Grafico is Love and Valentines. Enter for a chance to win this Love set by Blackleaf Studios. Entries will be accepted until January 20th, midnight.

I was thrilled to receive this digital set. It has soooo many possibilities! I decided to create a calendar page for my CD frame calendar. ##Last year I purchased several of these adorable calendars at Michael's Craft Store. They are perfect desk calendars. However, this year they are not available at Michael's and I could not find them anywhere.  Now as a crafter I am sure you know just what I am thinking...I decided to make my own. In fact several of my relatives and friends have decided to help and we will each make take three months to design. So I have 12 pages to make but will have to design pages for Jan., Feb, and March. Sounds like a fabulous deal to me. Plus...I have a chance to admire another crafter's artwork for nine months. Today I am posting and hopefully add to this post later in the week. This is the February page made with one of the digital images in the set above.

The following picture shows a close up of the digital stamp.
The DP was a very shiny cardstock. I cut out the image using a Spellbinders die. The calendar was also a freebie on the internet. I backed this with some DP from my treasury of papers. I used the jelly roll pen to add some sparkle as well as a few stickers. Distressing on the edges of the cutout added a little color.

I hope that I have inspired you to use this Blackleaf Studio set to create something for that special person/s. Thanks for visiting. Please feel to leave a comment. (Yes, I do enjoy reading your wonderful comments.) If you are interested in making your own calendar, you might want to follow this blog so that you don't miss any of the future pages. When you have completed your project, you can click HERE to post to the My Grafico Blog.  Happy New Year!! May you always find time to do something you love each day.

Happy Birthday

The following card was made in a Stamp Camp @ Buffalo Stamps and Stuff.( 3314 Sheridan Drive Amherst, Ny 14226) Click HERE for their website
I decided to use it for a birthday card.

The following box was made with some adorable Christmas designer paper. I needed a small box for a couple of charms. I happened to see a cream cheese box and...BINGO ...I traced it and this is how it looks. We crafters can always see possibilities in everything!!

I hope that you like my newest projects. I will be back soon with our first challenge of the year at
My Grafico.

Happy New Year

I trust that you all had a wonderful New Year celebration...whether you chose to celebrate quietly or festively. I have been thinking about resolutions. Do you make them? Would love for you to share your thoughts. I do make resolutions each year and this year DO plan on keeping them.
  • My first resolutions is to be healthy which to me means eating nutritiously and exercising more frequently.
  •  My second resolution is to organize...myself and my home. How did we ever collect so many treasures.
  • My last resolution is to continue to have fun each day.
Now that these resolutions are in print...I must continue to uphold my promise!!

Since my current design team My Gafico is on a short break, I have had time to explore another craft. I purchased the first pin/hair clip at Stein Mart. I fell in love with it. Of course I knew that I could make others similar to it. The second picture shows my first attempt. What do you think?
This is the pin/hair clip that was purchased.

Here is the pin that I made.

It was so easy to do...just feathers and a glue gun. If you would like more details, just let me know.

It has been almost two years since my daughter and I began this blog.( I really have benefited since she does not have free time to commit to blogging.) I have met so many precious blogging friends and have more followers than I ever dreamed of. I have learned so many new techniques and been inspired by all the creativity in blogland. How did we ever manage before the internet? Creating is contagious and is good for my soul! I can't wait to see what is next!! For all my followers: I promise to inspire you. For those of you that take the time to leave a comment, I really love reading your thoughts and cherish your praise. I will have some blog candy coming soon to celebrate my second blog anniversary in February. May God bless you with much happiness and good health throughout the coming year.
