I just received some exciting news........I am a COWGIRL!!  I have been selected to be a member of  the design team (a posse) for: Cowgirl's Sunday Stamp'em Challenge.  This means that I will design and publish cards using cj Holifield's stamps. I love summer and all of its beauty. We have had hot and not so humid weather this week..just perfect. It makes me appreciate the beauty of the season and how lucky I am. I love the way this card turned out. I do best when following a sketch and that was what I started with.

This paper craft is a candy bar cover. Hopefully my granddaughter will feel comfortable to take it to her new kindergarten teacher on the first day of school. (Nothing is better that chocolate at the end of a day of teaching!)

Barb: Z fold card

While creating this card, I used a technique that was new to me. First, this card is a Z fold card. Not nearly as difficult as it sounds. This time I added chipboard. I stamped the butterfly on the white cardstock. Then I stamped part of it on a round chipboard. I added some glitter to the hearts on her wing, swiped the edges of the clipboard then positioned it on the butterfly. It adds some dimension. I hope that you can see this in the picture.

Barb: Sunflower Moment

I love sunflowers! To me they express summer in all its glory. This was a fun card to design especially using the acetate.

            Stamp:  Stampin Up ( I have had this stamp forever and never used it before!)

            Colored with Prisma Pencils and then blended
            Accents: Jelly Roll Glitter pen, Martha Stewart glass microbeads, The butterflies are slightly raised to
            add some dimension.

Aunt Nancy's Birthday Card

This card and be used for either an anniversary or a wedding since "celebrate love" is perfect for both occasions.

             Sentiment: Raindrop Echo Designs, a free digital stamp
             Technique: This is quite a simple card. I did highlight some of the flowers and leaves with glitter to add dimension. I traced the heart sentiment with a jelly roll pen to add some shine. I "gathered" the ribbon using staples then added a little bling.

Barb: Black and White

If you are following my blog, you will see that I love bright colors but I also enjoy the challenge using just black and white. I feel that one can appreciate the image when it is stamped in black on a white cardstock. Of course I usually add some bling, ribbon and of course the jelly roll pen.

            Image: From a darling stamp store that I used to visit in Myrtle Beach, SC, Artful Legacy. The store is no longer there but they are expanding their on line store.  Just a note: Artful Legacy will be at the Hamburg, NY stamp convention. If you plan on attending, please check them out. They are a wonderful, sincere couple.

             Techniques:  This is a simple card. the beauty being in the image.  I did highlight a few flowers with the jelly roll pen and swiped the card with black ink.

This birthday card was designed with a free digital stamp from Stretch N Bubbles. Each time that I enter their challenge and use their free digi, I will receive a new digi.  Can't beat that!! It is challenging and makes me think out of the box.
